Wirepress Step by Step

First time users should follow the following steps in order to get started.

1- Create your News Groups

a. Click on "News groups"

b. Click "add a News group"

c. Give a title to your new News group

d. Activate the News group if you want people to be able to register right away

e. Set the order of the News group on the subscribe page; 1 will place the news group above the other

f. Save by clicking the diskette icon on the top left of the editor

2- Import Users

a. Click on "Manage Users"

b. Click on "import emails"

c. Choose to which News Group you want to add those users (Only if you have more then one New group)

d. Click on browse and upload your text file (the file needs to be .txt one user per line, the top row should be called “email” and not something like "e-mail" or "Email Address" )

The emails in the text document should look like this;

e. Choose between “Send notification email” and “Make confirmed immediately”. “Send notification email” option will send an email to the users and ask them to confirm their interest in receiving your newsletters, we highly recommend our clients to use this option when adding users in their mailing lists. 3- Managing images for the Newsletters

a. Click on "Images"

b. Click on "browse" and select the image you want to upload

c. Repeat same operation for all images required in the newsletters

Once images are uploaded they will be available to be used when creating Newsletter templates and editing Newsletters.

4- Creating Newsletter Templates

You can create as many templates as you need or use the free templates

a. Click on “Templates”

b. Click “Add New Template”

c. Enter title of the new Template

d. Wait for the WYSIWYG editor to load

e. Start editing your new Template using the HTML editor

f. Save by clicking the diskette icon on the top left of the editor

The template is in principle the container in which the newsletter content will appear thus information within the template should be as generic as possible.

5- Creating and Sending your Newsletter

a. Click on "send a message"

b. Wait for the WYSIWYG editor to load

c. Enter the Newsletter title that recipients will see upon reception

d. Enter your email address or enter the name you want to show in the from field and the email address this way “Your Name <yourname@domain.com>”

e. Select the date until when you want to embargo this newsletter, otherwise leave date and time as is. When you embargo a newsletter the
newsletter is placed in the send queue but will not be sent until the specified date, note that the newsletter will not be automatically sent on that date, you will need to process the queue

f. Choose format, we recommend to leave it on Auto detect

g. Send as: allows you to choose the format in which your newsletter will be sent, when sending HTML newsletters we recommend you to choose “text and HTML”

h. Select the template you want to use for this Newsletter

i. Start editing your Newsletter

j. Save by clicking the diskette icon on the top left of the editor

k. “Send Test Message” allows you to send yourself the newsletter to see how members will receive it.

l. “Save Message As Draft” will store your newsletter in Draft Messages

m. Select the Newsgroup to whom you want to send this newsletter

n. Send Message function will send the message to the queue but will not send the message to the newsgroup

6- Sending Newsletters / Processing the Message queue

a. Click on “Queue”

b. Click on "Process Queue" to send all messages (embargoed messages will remain in the queue)
